Cannabis is not marijuana
CBD stands for cannabidiol. It is derived directly from the hemp plant, which is a cousin of the marijuana plant - and does NOT cause a “high.”
From the World Health Organisation
“In humans, CBD exhibits no effects indicative of any abuse or dependence potential...To date, there is no evidence of public health related problems associated with use of pure CBD.”
How CBD works
CBD impacts the body by reaching receptors called the CB2 receptors. CB2 receptors are common in the immune system, they mainly affect inflammation and pain.
CBD to the rescue!
Research suggests that the non-psychoactive compounds in CBD can be used to reduce inflammation, pain, anxiety, neurological disease, and can even help to protect against cancers.
